Anyone else feeling like that right now? Or think I'm wrong big time? There may be other factors, but--wtf?

By any means possible.
And they did.
It would not have mattered who the Dems ran.

The democratic political class who demanded Biden step aside and dump this impossible task on Harris should have absolutely known by now that the bread and butter electorate will simply not elect a woman. No matter how qualified or wonderful.

(11,807 posts)He delivered the end of safe abortion to them, but they want more because not all states have gone full hate toward women.
Misogyny is built into their religious beliefs that women should aspire only to being wives and mothers with no thoughts other than how to please a husband, even an abusive one, and raise children thoroughly indoctrinated to be just like their parentssubmissive girls and aggressive boys. Their pastors preach thus patriarchal family model every Sunday. They also spread Republican lies and tell people who to vote for.
I apologize to those here who are sincerely religious, but I believe that the evangelical version of Christianity that motivates the Trump supporters is a huge part of the division and hatred in our country. I am anti any religion having a significant role in determining our laws based on their beliefsChristian, Muslim, or anything else.

(5,113 posts)I'm at work, outside taking a smoke break, and seriously just a couple minutes ago heard two coworkers discussing the election. Specifically, "She sucked dick to get to the top."
Breathing slowly and carefully and enjoying talking to the sweet basset hound pups in a customer's car parked nearby. I will NOT let them get to me, even though I wanted to punch the shit out of both of these assholes.
I'm extra glad today that I decided to not have kids.

(2,799 posts)In other words, the Republican party is full of Republicans: terrible and mean people, with an agenda of hate, cruelty and oppression towards anyone who is different than them, and against women in particular.
I know that they seem to focus on trans and LGBTQ+people, I think part of their hatred is for anyone who has sexual pleasure that doesn't result in a pregnancy. They believe that sex is evil and should be punished by resulting in forced pregnancy.
The rest of their agenda is about having power over anyone they don't like. The cruelty is the point.

(11,789 posts)That there is a large element of misogynists in their tent with that world view is undeniable, but it's not the only reason for the debacle.
