El Paso is no longer one of the largest cities in the country without an abortion clinic. The citys Planned Parenthood, which had stopped performing abortions at the start of the pandemic in 2020, again offers the service, marking a major shift in abortion access for El Pasoans.
El Paso Planned Parenthood resumed abortion services on Dec. 15, Autumn Keiser, a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas, wrote in an email.
The Planned Parenthood clinic now provides medication abortions up to five weeks and six days after the start of a patients most recent menstrual period, according to its website. Medication abortions are non-surgical processes where patients take medications to end a pregnancy.
These offerings are in compliance with Texass extreme abortion restrictions, Keiser wrote, referring to Texas Senate Bill 8.

By the grace of the Divine Goddess, may Planned Parenthood be the (as though) open-carry weapon that takes down Texas' twisted thinkers. The 6-week rule law is incapable of proving a woman's period started 5 weeks and 7 days prior, not 5 weeks and 6 days.
So, do women have to keep a menstruation diary, signed and attested to for accuracy?
With a few exceptions, nobody has standing to press charges because 'they do not know' and and 'can not prove' that one day difference between a legal and an illegal Texas abortion.
