Fwid, I think some posts can get lost in the shuffle in GD, just because it's so busy that it's hard to keep up. I know I miss a lot of stuff there myself.

(120,858 posts)for people to read or discover a post. And just because there aren't a lot of comments doesn't mean nobody cares - I often just read and don't comment on a post for various reasons - maybe I have nothing to add that someone else hasn't already said, or maybe I didn't have time at that moment - but that doesn't mean I was indifferent. This is obviously a serious and disturbing development and I'm sure people do care, a lot.

(19,720 posts)The post is important and those of us here in Florida are very much aware of the dangers this bill has. The governor just yesterday announced his run for president..we all must make sure he doesnt even get out of the gate.

(67,112 posts)some point to have some heart surgery done. Last time I was in a major hospital here a few nurses gave me a hard time to the point of not providing enough pain medication after a major operation. I got that corrected. But then saying derogatory things under their breath. There was absolutely no need for that ... maybe on my chart it said LGBT or something. I have absolutely no doubt with this new law I as well as others, could face this. Just a broken arm, a leg, whatever one could be denied ... even by an ambulance. It is absolutely incredible. I also wonder which group will be next.

(18,670 posts)I'm so sorry that happened to you. Those nurses behaved very unprofessionally, imo. Shame on them!

(855 posts)I read a lot of general articles
But, I have noticed (could be wrong with the perception) over the last few years fewer direct requests for situational assistance, maybe its because its too unsafe these days so they do it via DU mail instead?
Frankly I dont really know anyone by username. Ive seen some over the years but Ive always been bad about them just like with actual peoples names. And I havent gotten very involved with Democratic Party volunteering or anything given some of the difficulties Ive faced so I havent made in person connections or had outreach that way. I dont really understand the whole DU 2.0/3.0
launch or different version tracking thats happened either. I just came by and started reading circa 2001 and agreed on average with things and the people behind the scenes even if I never knew them.
It would be kind of nice to see an LGBT Loners group tbh.

(1,944 posts)A good example were the posts about Hamburger Mary's in Orlando (this week). It turns out that last week while visiting my sister in Hudson (Fl) we drove right by the one in Clearwater on US-19. I will be visiting Hamburger Mary's whenever I visit my sister - I may even detour around Tampa to go there next month. I am straight, but not involving myself in discussions, here or elsewhere, is nowhere near not showing support for LGBTQ. Progress may not be as quick as some would like; compare today with fifty years ago.

(1,944 posts)It is a shame that so few can see what is happening. Some talk about how DeSantis wants to make America Florida and find it amusing. What I saw today tells me it has already happened. Now I think I understand the meaning of what you post.
