Webinar
All around the world, LGBTQ people face persecution, violence and harassment. With few protections at home, many flee to seek safety in other countries with no guarantee they will find it.
On this webinar well hear from Heidi Lehmann, HIAS Senior Director of Gender and GBV Programs; Galo Quizanga, Global Director of Economic Inclusion; and Blythe Raphael, Director of Refugee Services at HIAS resettlement partner Jewish Family and Community Services East Bay, who will discuss the unique needs and vulnerabilities of this population, and how HIAS and our U.S. and international partners have stepped up to advocate for the human rights of our LGBTQ clients and provide lifesaving support. Questions from the audience will be taken.
Advance registration required. Click here to RSVP and receive log-in instructions.
In case anyone might be interested. The HIAS is the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. They were the group used as an excuse to attack and murder 9 Jews in Pittsburgh. They advocate and protect immigrants to the US. You can read up on
