Catholic Church voices support for DUP bill to permit anti-gay discrimination

The Catholic Church has voiced its support for a ‘conscience clause’ bill in Northern Ireland that would permit anti-gay discrimination.Patrick Corrigan of Amnesty International said in a statement: “What is proposed is not a conscience clause, it is a discrimination clause.
DUP minister Paul Givan has tabled a bill in the Northern Ireland Assembly that would effectively exempt people with ‘strongly held’ religious convictions from equality laws– allowing them to discriminate against gay people.

Who needs them. It's too bad more Catholics don't have a conscience about allowing the church to move pedophiles to continue their abuse somewhere else. Why oh why is the Catholic church still around or listened to?

And yet some "progressives" think the Pope is a breath of fresh air for his stances on poverty.

I am absolutely amazed at how this church has such influence, even among fellow Democrats.
