(10,044 posts)1. Thanks, Paul
I am a believer even tho I never saw an alien spaceship tho most people haven't, I suppose. But I do believe that people, sane and insane, intelligent and stupid, old and young, male and female, Americans and non-Americans, have seen stuff that can't be identified, thus "ufo's."
In my case it helps that I'm over 70. When I wuz a kid, about 11-15 or so, there were sightings in the main news outlets daily. We had Mantel, Roswell, the ones that flew over DC, and a whole bunch of other sightings. At that time, nobody poked fun at the people, reporters, cops, pilots, who saw them..
There is more evidence for than against, more for UFO's than for any religion and there are many stories in the bible about people being taken up, not jsut in the main bible, but in the books that were not included in it. Every culture in the world shows evidence in structures and cave drawings that should count as evidence as other-worldly activity.
Yet anyone who reports them becomes a joke (government work), and you are going to be one for showing this. I admire your courage and thank you.
I hope Comcast will have the ufo network mentioned in the video. History Channel has a lot of good segments, but when they are mixed with "bible" stuff and every other kind of ghost or ghoul, it's hard to take them seriously.
Thank you

(11,031 posts)2. The streak thing at 5:20 is a classic "rod"
A.k.a. "bug flying close to the camera." Here's an interesting study that a friend of mine did.

(952 posts)3. Pretty sure the mexico one was a plastic bag
Some of the others were interesting.
Like the meteor captured by many russian car cams, we should start seeing more video like these.
One interesting phenomena is, while all this is going on, we're walking around looking down at our phones, not to the sky.
Thanks for the link.

(28,581 posts)4. A good friend saw something that looked like the first one
She was sitting next to the pool reading, looked up and saw something that looked like that fly over the trees. She was to startled to remember to take a picture. We haven't been able to figure out what it is she saw.
Has anyone ever come up with an alternative theory to what the big triangles that have been filmed in recent years are?

(12,223 posts)5. The “Lights over Phoenix” sightings:
The first event the "V", which appeared over northern Arizona and gradually traveled south over nearly the entire length of the state, eventually passing south of Tucson was the apparently "wedge-shaped" object reported by then-Governor Symington and many others. This event started at about 20:15 MST over the Prescott area, and was seen south of Tucson by about 20:45 MST.
Proponents of two separate events propose that the first event still has no provable explanation, but that some evidence exists that the lights were in fact airplanes. According to an article by reporter Janet Gonzales that appeared in the Phoenix New Times, videotape of the v shape shows the lights moving as separate entities, not as a single object; a phenomenon known as illusory contours can cause the human eye to see unconnected lines or dots as forming a single shape.

Below: At least one photo of a reported triangle (in the Belgian Wave) was a hoax.
The mystery of the iconic Petit-Rechain black triangle UFO photo has finally been solved. The photographer, a man named only as Patrick, has admitted making the UFO out of polystyrene in an interview with mainstream Belgian TV channel RTL-TVI.
The photograph was taken 21 years ago in 1990 at the height of the Belgian UFO flap and was an instant hit around the world, with many publications using the photo as a kind of banner for the UFO phenomenon.
It was known as the Petit-Rechain photo after the Belgian town where it was photographed, but Patrick revealed he and some friends made the model in a short space of time before photographing it some hours later that evening.

I think UFO sightings believed by observers to be alien craft are either hoaxes, misidentifications of known objects, or of unusual weather phenomena, such as this plasma event:
