Why hasn't the Odessa/Midlands shooter's identity been released?

Could the real shooter have been a rightwing operative acting on instructions from higher up?

Has the real shooter been allowed to escape?

Did the police kill an innocent bystander as part of a larger cover-up?

"Just shut up and trust us!" is the best fuel for paranoid conspiracy theories!

Since Columbine there has been an effort to withhold the fame that so many of these sickos seem to want. The effort should be on remembering the victims, not their killers.

That's a sensible PoV

But it's not the same as officials withholding the name of someone shot by the police

Why Not?

• Some suspects are motivated by a desire for fame, notoriety, and/or recognition.

• When the media focuses on the attacker, they provide this fame, notoriety and recognition.

• This focus allows the attacker to accomplish one of their goals, and validates their life and actions.

• Media coverage can create a contagion effect producing more shootings.

• Some shootings/attacks may be prevented by removing one of the incentives.

• We encourage the media and others not to name the suspects or focus on their lives.

• The shooters/attackers should be as unrecognized in their deaths as they were in their lives.

• Media coverage should focus on the victims and the heroes

Did Abbott’s office handle the case, would the Governor try to hide that fact?

There are accountability questions relating to the criminal justice system such as, did anyone warn police about the shooter prior to the incident?

Was the shooter a prior police informant? Was he prematurely let out on parole/probation? Were there deals given to him that should be subject to public scrutiny.
Did a judge make a horrible decision on a prior case? Texas elects Judges and voters would have a right to know this.

All these questions can be answered with a simple disclosure.

I bet he is a big cult 45 MF45 supporter. If he was a minority the name and picture would have have already been released. Even the Daily Guardian which gets news first is mum on the shooters identity. Kind of suspicious.

"We shot a suspect but we won't tell you who it was"

I suggest people cultivate a healthy paranoia

If we're really OK with "We shot a suspect but we won't tell you who it was" then someday soon we'll hear "We imprisoned 70 threats to public safety but we won't tell you who they are"

Jimmy Al-Daoud’s death

September 1, 2019

Jimmy Al-Daoud’s body arrived from Iraq yesterday in a casket, sent back to Michigan so he can be buried next to his mother. Born in a refugee camp in Greece in 1978, Al-Daoud’s family was granted refugee status in the United States in 1979. They traveled from Greece to Detroit when he was less than a year old. Al-Daoud, who suffered from bipolar schizophrenia and diabetes, was deported to Iraq in July 2019. He died a few months later on the streets of Baghdad, at age 41, when he couldn’t find medication ...
