WHO rejects Israel's claim of 'collusion' with Hamas

The World Health Organization on Friday denied Israel's charges it had colluded with Hamas by ignoring Israeli evidence of the group's "military use" of hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus also said that such accusations could endanger the UN health agency's staff on the ground.

He was responding to claims made Thursday by Israeli ambassador Meirav Eilon Shahar at a meeting of the WHO's board.

"WHO refutes Israel's accusation at the executive board meeting yesterday that WHO is in 'collusion' with Hamas and is 'turning a blind eye' to the suffering of hostages being held in Gaza," Tedros said on X.

WHO chief denies Israel's charges, but not Israel's evidence.

Apparently, it is not the military use of hospitals, but the charges of military use of hospitals by Hamas militants that "could endanger the UN health agency's staff on the ground".

And fuck the other lives that are being endangered.

Nasser hospital, I believe.

Any criticism of Israel's actions, in this case the terror inflicted on patients and medical staff along with the damage to hospitals and their forced closure - is met with accusations of Hamas support and collusion.

It's a crying shame when respected global and humanitarian organizations are attacked in furtherance of defending the indefensible attacks on hospitals.

It documents the use of hospitals in furtherance of Hamas military objectives. This is a gross violation of the international law, and in each case it leads to the hospitals in question losing their protective status.

Interestingly, while you, although in the most non-specific and indirect terms possible, appear to be denying Israel's allegations of Hamas' military use of hospitals, WHO does not. WHO is not even denying that it ignored evidence presented to them by Israel. It merely refutes the allegation that their inaction constitutes collusion with Hamas.

This is how respected global and humanitarian organizations lose respect.
