Some Jewish Leaders Question Schumers Backing Of Israel Critic Rep. Keith Ellison For DNC Chair

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2016/11/15/schumer-keith-ellison-dnc/

Prominent Jewish leaders told CBS2’s Kramer they are upset with Schumer for backing Ellison, who has been highly critical of Israel.

The Jewish leaders recited a litany of concerns. Ellison, the first Muslim in Congress, worked to insert pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel pranks into the Democratic Party platform, but they were stopped by the Clinton team.

On a trip to Israel last summer, Ellison posted a photo of a sign in Hebron declaring Israel to be an apartheid state. He also proudly defended Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan against accusations of being anti-Semitic.

If this guy becomes party chair, I might leave the Democratic Party. I would never join the GOP, but we cannot allow a Corbynization of the DNC to happen.

both activity-wise and monetarily, and they're not a massive political liability, nor is there a risk of members of it blowing themselves up around the country and the world in the name of their religion. Jews win. Sorry.

Now that moderates like the Clintons are gone, if the Dem party engages left-wing anti-Semites, you'll see more situations like 2012 with the Jewish vote where Romney hit a record, but without Obama, it won't be enough nationally for a Democrat to win nationally anyway. Also, there are a lot of Jews in FL, PA, MI, and parts of OH and WI.

which is similar to how badly Obama beat McCain in Vermont 8 years ago. Only this time, the figures are national. Mondale only lost by 18% and McGovern by 23%. 49 states right there.

a 35% margin of victory in a national vote would likely be all 50 states and 538 electoral votes right there.

I didn't see it as a contest between Israel and Palestine. Ideally very few would, and the rest would advocate a fair and sustainable agreement.

But that's just me.

Ftr I have an uncle who died a prisoner in a Nazi camp in 1944.

Israels gov and the Jewish people should not be assumed to share each others positions. Like us and Trump.
