UNHRC official: ‘Israel’s status at UN depends on ending the occupation’

http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Politics-And-Diplomacy/UNHRC-official-Israels-status-at-UN-depends-on-its-ending-the-occupation-471289

Israel's status at the United Nations depends on its ending the “occupation” and on the ability of “Palestine” to act as a state, warned special investigator and Canadian legal expert Michael Lynk during an official briefing to the international body.

“I raise the question, does the occupying [power] need to realize that its status in the international community and at the UN depends on allowing the Palestinians to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence and to bring the occupation to an end?” Lynk said

So Russia can invade and annex part of Ukraine, Iran can execute gays and jail hijab-abstainers, Saudi Arabia can publicly behead people, China can still brutalize Tibet, or even the US (and other countries) could stay in Iraq for a decade (not on the same moral level as the others but still), but Israel can be expelled or suspended from the UN for protecting itself against an enemy who has sought its genocide since even before the administration of the West Bank. Yeeuuppp.

6. If the Palestinians end the war, will Israel end the occupation?
Tue Nov 1, 2016, 05:40 AM

Will Israel stop with community-and housing-policies that are prejudiced against Palestinians?
Will Israel give up its legal and executive power over what happens in the Westbank?
Will the israeli politicians all of a sudden turn against the right-wingers and extremists who want to rebuild a purely jewish Israel "from the sea to the river"?

There's a lack of trust on both sides.

8. That was the plan after they pulled out of Gaza.

Their intention was to pull out of the West Bank once Gaza was stabilized, but Hamas responded to the possibility of peace with more terrorism and aggression, so the Israelis dug in to their defensive positions to prevent the West Bank from becoming another Gaza, and the PLO's intransigence has maintained that situation ever since.

13. So you agree Israel's unequal status at the UN should only be remedied...

....if Israel ends the occupation? That only Israel is uniquely evil and deserving of this proposition?

Yes or No.

Looks like you support UN discrimination against Israel for "crimes" that pale in comparison to just about every other nation on the planet.

As if Israel can just end the occupation whenever it wants and not have to worry about terror at all. As though Hamas or worse (ISIS) wouldn't take over the W.Bank.

5. You support the UN's obsession w/ Israel that ignores much greater crimes worldwide.

That's no better than only targeting Blacks while ignoring the far greater crimes of Whites.

How shameful.

11. I'm not in denial about the UN's sick obsession with Israel...

....that intentionally causes it to ignore nearly every disgusting atrocity worldwide. It's discrimination if not outright racism, no better than focusing on the "legitimate" crimes of Blacks while ignoring the same or worse of Whites. No sense pretending otherwise. That's disingenuous to the max.

As occupations go, there are many others around the world that make Israel's look very tame in comparison. No similar UN resolutions. You also "forget" that if Israel simply ends it, Hamas likely takes over - or worse - ISIS, Iran, etc. So let's not pretend Israel's there for all the wrong reasons, especially since the Palestinians have rejected 3 offers in the past 15 years to end it.

And no other nation on the planet in the same situation (with neighboring leadership intent on genocide) would be any better WRT human rights. That's just a fact, as no other nation in combat or war is more careful WRT civilian lives of the enemy population as Israel.

16. Only someone with absolutely no moral compass could support or defend what the UN does.

It goes well beyond deliberately ignoring recent genocides around the world (Syria for example) in order to put a bigoted microscope on the Jewish state & demonize it to the exclusion of others. There are the scandals like oil for food, peacekeeper mass rape of women & children, peacekeepers' role inducing a Cholera outbreak in Haiti that's killed 10,000 as of now. And there's more ugly beyond that. Much more...

If you're looking for genuine war crimes & crimes against humanity look no further than the UN. The UN is without question a corrupt, bigoted immoral farce. Its criminal actions require serious investigation & accountability. Israel is a beacon of light in comparison to that vile, pro-terrorist rat's nest.

Your support of the UN goes to show how little regard you have for human rights.

There's a term for folks who have no empathy for others, who couldn't care less about them. The UN cares only about people if they can blame Israel for the oppression, even when anti-Israel charges are totally fabricated. Palestinians suffering in Syria or under Hamas or the PA are invisible to the UN when Israel cannot be blamed. These people without empathy for others - and lets face it, they don't give a shit - are called sociopaths and that also applies to people who support and defend the these sociopaths at the UN. No moral compass whatsoever.

12. Was UNESCO's resolution denying Jewish history "justified"?
Tue Nov 1, 2016, 08:53 PM
Nov 2016

Simple yes or no since you just claimed all UN resolutions about Israel are justified.

Can you justify more UNHRC anti-Israel resolutions than the rest of the world combined? Be honest. Is it worth the price? After all, it's about human rights - correct? Are the human rights of Palestinians more important than the rest of the planet's population combined? The UNHRC thinks so because that's how they operate. How about yourself?

Just testing your "justified" statement, that's all.

Thanks.

You're useless and cater to antisemitic bigots. Pass yet another anti-Israel resolution while you ignore all the murder, rape, child marriage and all manner of disgusting behavior done in the Arab world.

14. Yep, pure antisemitism. Discriminatory to the max against 1 nation only.

The Jewish nation, of course.

Which will be "accepted" at the UN like other nations only when it ends its occupation & allows Hamas or ISIS to take over, for rockets to slam Ben Gurion Airport, Tel Aviv....for suicide bombers, stabbers, tunnel entries into schools, etc.

Yeah, they can go fuck themselves sideways.
