" Does this represent a new offensive against Jewish and Israeli targets by the Sunni extremists group? "
Bit insensitive if you ask me .....on the day that they showed they dont give a damn who they target .

(3,967 posts)as per guidelines issued by ISIS.
As for their attacks targeting Jews and their attacks targeting EU capitals - I think we can agree both are horrendous.
....also agree with post 1 ....

(14,851 posts)Spoils the narrative .... Especially a post Zionist one ... Where Israel is not necessary as a refuge for Jews anymore?
Well got news for you... Proof positive that you and Gideon Levy and the other 48 club members are dead wrong.
Israeli
(4,249 posts)No atheist spells GOD as G-D ........only the religious do that .
I will stick with " Gideon Levy and the other 48 club members " over your opinions on anything .........anyday .

(14,851 posts)I celebrate Pesach and Rosh Hashana with the family too ..
And thankfully your opinions are different from mine ... Phew ...
As for the next post Zionist conference- will it be in a corner of your Kibbutz Chader Ochel ?

Speak for yourself ... Seems you probably in the minority.
Plenty unite the rest of us ... That don't eat dinner in your Chader Ochel....in some isolated remote area that may as well be in the Nevada desert....worlds away from Tel Aviv or NYC.
No wonder you hold those views that you do... You don't have the same bonds as the vast majority of Jews worldwide do... Religious or not .

But I'm not sure you understand all this.
And no it's not unique in Jewish community- at all . But I get that it's difficult for outsiders to understand.

(3,967 posts)I posted a link to information about non-theistic shuls in order to help improve your understanding, that in the diverse Jewish community there is in fact an organized movement with a number of such congregations. Just from your own comment, it was clear that this would help to improve your understanding.
You're welcome.

Israeli
(4,249 posts)....why would an atheist, who denies the existence of any God, go to a place that was specifically built for the worship of said non existent God ?
Makes no sense .
shira
(30,109 posts)Then again, maybe you don't if you take putzes like Shlomo Sand seriously.
Do you feel any connection to other Jews at all?
Israeli
(4,249 posts)But I do take Shlomo Sand seriously shira .

Like other ethnicities, they feel a connection to their people.
They feel a connection to their cultural & historic homeland too.
Maybe that's what you really don't get.
Israeli
(4,249 posts)..........maybe thats what you really dont get ?
Jonathan Pollard didnt get it either
shira
(30,109 posts)You have us all pegged here as being just as religious as Jonathan Pollard.
Shows you don't really know much about secular or non-religious Jews.
Israeli
(4,249 posts).........which I would be the first to admit .
Learnt a hell of a lot about you since I joined this group tho .
"Shows you don't really know much about secular or non-religious Jews."
You should qualify that statement to ......secular or non-religious American Jews.
My own culture and my own country I know inside out ....we are worlds apart you and I shira , in distance in politics in believes ....you are as American as Jonathan Pollard.....I am as Israeli as Shlomo Sand .
