Related: About this forumWhy no one wants to meet US Vice President Vance in Greenland - DW News
Vice President Vance is on his way to visit an American base in Greenland in a one-day trip that was scaled back after an uproar among Greenlanders and Danes. President Trump has repeatedly said the US needs control of the semi-autonomous Danish territory.
Markus Valentin from the Greenlandic Broadcasting Corporation joined DW to explain more about how the Vances' trip is being received in Greenland. He told us that efforts by the Americans to arrange visits with locals in advance had been unsuccesful.
