(15,007 posts)I am not a lover of capitalism but this is a country that could have shown us how a hybrid of the two could work. A hairdresser in Texas bragged to me about her wonderful heath care there and another exCuban bragged to me about her ability to go to college for free. Interesting that both were in the US. Each of them seem to be proud of and really love their country but each was in Houston Texas living and earning her living.

(252 posts)Works. We are currently in the throes of corporate capitalism and its THE reason for many of our problems. Monopolies, duopolys, and the such is the pox that is killing small towns and good paying jobs.

(15,007 posts)works wonder. I see it here in the small flower shop and small sandwich shop and the tradesmen and women who help me and others keep our lawns and upkeep our old houses from crumbling. But none of that would work without the infrastructure that our combined tax dollars provided us all with water and electricity, roads, etc.
