Ukraine launched it's largest drone attack on Russia hitting multiple targets such as an oil refinery.

This kind of attack is going to stir up more anti-Putin sentiment than another million dead and a trillion in equipment lost in Ukraine. It's impossible to know if this is part of Ukraine's planning, but I suspect it was. Russia really IS an enigma, at times, and, despite deprivation, things continue on at their usual pace....until they don't. It's always taken a Stark Reminder to wake the Russian people.
