on IRC when I was working nights and couldn't sleep on nights off. Dagestan was a new one for me, I had to look it up.

I can tell you that when Khadyrov finally kicks the bucket, Chechnya will once again fight to leave Russia and this time, they won't have the wherewithal to stop them. Dagestan will ride their coattails out, also.

He mentioned the difficulty of ore extraction up in the mountains. I said it was difficult with wheeled or rail vehicles but that a tramline might be a better option, gondolas carrying ore down and fuel for the equipment up, workers up and down to work their shifts.

Unfortunately, ISIS has been very active there, so the resources are going to stay where they are until those fools either die off or go home.
