Dog tossed down NYC high-rise trash chute by sicko and found yelping in pain

A sicko mercilessly tossed a poor pup down a garbage chute in a Lower Manhattan high-rise this week -- a deranged act that left the dog so badly injured it had to be euthanized.
[snip]
The injured dog was discovered just before 10:30 a.m. at the Gov. Alfred E. Smith Houses, a NYCHA complex below the Brooklyn Bridge, the NYPD said.
An employee who goes by Caretaker Jay was cleaning the compactor when he heard the pooch yelping, cops and residents say.
He rescued the dog, who had four broken legs, from the [rubbish] and passed it off to ASPCA for treatment-- but the abuse was too grievous for a recovery.
"Sadly, due to the severe medical injuries resulting in extreme suffering, this dog, an alleged victim of cruelty, was humanely euthanized to end the existing and ongoing pain," said Alyssa Flek, a spokesperson for the animal advocacy group.
Now, a haunting photo of the filthy dog -- nearly looking dead after it's life-saving rescue -- hangs in the lobby of the NYCHA building, imploring those with information to call the police.
There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.

(There was no "graphic warning" in the title of this post nor in the headline of the NY Post article)
btw, I post animal cruelty stories because I'm an animal lover who hates it when psychopaths get away with deliberate animal abuse.
My goal is to help spread the word about particular animal cruelty cases, and in the process, perhaps help police and/or animal welfare groups locate the person or persons responsible for such cruelty.
I never post graphic photos of animal cruelty on DU, but I do sometimes post "warnings" about links that do show "graphic" photos of the animal who was allegedly abused.
I am NOT going to stop posting animal abuse stories in this "Animal Rights" forum because this is the "appropriate forum" for such posts.
Like humans, animals have rights too, and deserve to be treated with kindness, not abuse.
(If you don't wish to see my postings anymore, you can block me; that is your prerogative)
