Awesome gravy recipe
2 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup flour (we use White Whole Wheat)
1/3 cup nutritional yeast
2 Tablespoons Bragg's Liquid Amino Acids
2 teaspoons Kitchen Bouquet
Combine all in pot. Heat over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until thick.
This is a great gravy. We love it on Salisbury Steaks (use a veggie burger and add mushrooms, onions and serve over noodles or mashed potatoes).

(16,866 posts)You can add a lot of things to it. I'm assuming (and forgive me if I'm wrong) that 'nooch' refers to nutritional yeast? We get 6 meals out of this so it gives us our B vitamins for several days. It works great for when we're working different shifts and need to grab and go and still try to get some nutrition in our diets.

Nooch is indeed nutritional yeast. I tend to put it in all sorts of things, so I cut back on it in the gravy so as to make sure my crew doesn't get sick of the flavor.
I also mixed the flour with a bit of cold water to form a paste first, then added the remaining liquid a bit at a time while whisking to avoid any lumps forming before transferring to the stove.
Good stuff, Will!

(16,866 posts)We don't use a lot of gravy. We tend to only use it when we have mashed potatoes and that's a rarity in our house. We do, however, make a batch of baked potatoes occasionally and when we do gravy is a must.
