The Denton County Transportation Authority is projecting a 41% decrease in A-Train commuter rail ridership in fiscal 2021, along with a 53% decrease in bus ridership, and therefore is budgeting for a 27% decrease in operating revenue, from $5.2 million to $3.8 million, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The
Denton Record Chronicle reports the agency expects operating expenses to decrease by nearly $1 million, while non-operating revenue is expected to increase because of increases in sales tax revenue and federal grants. The authoritys board will vote on the budget at its September meeting.
