December 7th, 2011 | Add a Comment

Each week I bring you a craft you can complete with your child that is fun, educational, and frugal! I am trying to make December crafts to be geared toward gift giving and since December 8th is National Brownie Day, this craft was perfect! If you’ve missed past crafts, be sure to check out all Kids Frugal Fun!

Brownie in a Jar

Ingredients:
2 1/4 cup white sugar
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup Hershey kisses
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 small plastic baggie
Sprinkles

Mason Jar

My daughter and I will be making these for home room and specials teachers this year in addition to the donation we give to the class mom. She's also painting the jars with a holiday theme and we're going to add a votive candle so it can be used later as a votive holder.

Be sure to poke some air holes in the top, so the brownie doesn't suffocate. eppur_se_muova Dec 2011 #4

I think this would be great for a special needs class. I'm actually going to send it to my son's room mom as we're looking for a craft for our holiday party at school and he's also in a special needs class.
