A group I never knew existed, but I like it.
I suppose that playing around in this DU3 makes me do a little more exploring than I had in the past. Call me frugal if you are being kind, call me cheap or a tightwad if you choose. I am not embarrassed or offended either way.

I think it can be very useful, however!
but then again I rarely use them unless it's for freezing meat. I'm big on plastic containers that I can wash and reuse. My favorite are klip its because they are square and easily store and fit in the refridge and cabinets.
They also are leak proof which is handy when my son pulls everything out of the refridge. 
Didn't want to waste water washing---just reuse them!
Actually, you have a good idea and they will last longer than plastic bags....I use that same idea, but mine are containers from other things that I just save and reuse. Except for some Tupperware that I bought when I was young, I don't buy containers.
One thing I do keep are large plastic juice containers...clean them out and use them for water when hurricane season hits.Since I normally use reusable shopping bags, I was running low on the reg. plastic one I save and use for my son's dirty diapers. I had the opportunity reuse a few large plastic ziplock/bags. One was a ziplock of some frozen bananas/strawberries, I freeze for smoothies after they get a bit too ripe..didn't have to rinse. Another from some garlic bread...didn't rinse. And the other was from a GIANT bag of frozen peas...again didn't rinse. So feels good to re-purpose 3 plastic bags and didn't waste any water.

trying to reuse or even recycle. And I think the banana/strawberry bag will be fine as didn't sit around....it was used first thing in the am....
