Old nukes squabbling with new nukes.

This was predictable. As the trending small modular reactor attracts more and more taxpayer money for the hundred or so competing designs, the old school old guard defenders of "ordinary" reactors are asking not to be forgotten. Or refunded. The only fair thing to do, of course, is hurl money at all of them. This whole nuke thing is going to cost us trillions anyway, so we might as well make everybody rich. Not the utility rate payers, of course. No dessert for you and straight to bed, Mister!

...we've allowed ourselves to be put into a position where we are going to need every bit of non-CO2 emitting energy production we can muster.

As crypto currency mining demands more and more power, we may see one reactor per crypto farm.

The claim that renewable energy is cheap is a flat out lie. The nimble fossil fuel power plants and energy storage schemes required to "back up" renewable energy schemes are not cheap.

Germany's electric grid reeks of hypocrisy and greenhouse gas emissions. Residential and small business users pay over 50 cents a kilowatt hour for electricity, heavy industry uses coal power as cheap as it comes.

In nuclear France consumers pay 21 cents a kilowatt hour.

Canadian consumers pay 12 cents a kilowatt hour.

Etc.
