Instead of just capturing the thermal energy from the fusion reaction, they are capturing the electromagnetic release that occurs.

Using nuclear fusion to boil water… sheesh! It’s two technologies, from different centuries. Big, big plants, that need big cooling towers, and large bodies of water, which they heat up. Horribly inefficient.
