and fans that keep diners cool.

Someone should invent a house fan that also mists you so that the evaporation effect is intensified.

2. I have a hand held fan attached to a small mister bottle

I got it from the dollar store. The fan is battery operated. You can also just get a misting bottle from the store and mist yourself in front of your fan. that's what I have done before.

4. we don't have ac. luckily close to lake mich. cooler by the lake. getting wet helps. also weave over knit.

decades ago i got some rayon + cotton men's shirts + cut off the collar + sleeves. linen shirts even better. getting the shirt wet + putting it back on is a good cool down.
