NYC ED Bureaucracy *STILL* Coming After Whistleblower Portelos

Francesco Portelos is the STEM teacher and union rep who blew the whistle on corruption in his bldg in 2011, got sent to a rubber room for two years while the system tried to concoct a dismissal case against him. In the meantime, while in stir, he constructed this fantastic, state-of-the-art, anti-corruption website which draws followers from all over the country and drives the faceless denizens of the NYC DOE *BEYOND* crazy. No, they DO *NOT* WANT attention, thank you very much.

DOE lost the dismissal case ( making them crazier still), and were ordered to reinstate him. Now they're trying to set him up for an incompetency dismissal now. First they set him up in impossible situations ( i.e. out of license, last-minute change of programs, assigning him to teach Italian when he doesn't even know how to *speak* it, etc.) Then he's observed and evaluated all the time. Everything is deemed "unsatisfactory", natch.

Portelos posts sometimes on DU.

This is one *wild* friggin' ride.

Go to the homepage and click "My Story in 2 Minutes", for a quick catch-up. Here we're midway thru his latest post:

>>>>Me: “What? What other lesson was unsatisfactory?”

Williams: “The one by the principal. You didn’t get it?”

Me: “No. You mean the one from two weeks ago during Italian class??”

Williams: “Yes and since you now have two you are in danger of being rated unsatisfactory for the 2014-2015 school year.”

Here is when I laughed, looked at my watch and said “For the year? It’s only September. You know Ms. Williams, I see what is going on here. I spent the last two years uncovering corruption in the DOE and the only way was to be engulfed in it. I became a School Leadership member and uncovered it is a farce. I was reassigned and exposed that Rubber Rooms still exist. I uncovered the faulty investigation and 3020-a termination process and over a dozen other matters. Now you and others are going to help me uncover this ATR issue and the faulty kangeroo court that is the U rating appeal. I hope I get to go in front of Michael Agona.”

She had this strange snear and responded something such as “I don’t about all that. We are here to talk about your teaching and our concerns.”>>>>>>>>>
