Linking accounts to local bank

I have several accounts - brokerage with IRAs and taxable account, two credit unions. credit cards, and local bank. It is becoming a little difficult to visualize everything for financial planning.

What is your opinion about linking my accounts. I'm thinking to my local bank.

I am not talking EFT for transfer purposes back and forth - I have those already set up - just balances.

From what I have read it is safe - the local bank is using MX Technologies for the connection.

I have 2 checking accounts, one for general purposes and the other is Car and Mortgage. My monthly car and house payments are automatically debited from the second one, as well as car insurance and my ADT home security payments.

I have the other linked to various credit cards so I can pay bills online easily. Since I am often away from home and almost every bill I have to pay has an app I've downloaded onto my phone, it simplifies everything.

I think the security is stepped up considerably, just make sure your passwords are nice and complex.

FWIW, I actually use the "Reply text" box on DU to generate most of my passwords! It's just a space that easily allows typing random letters, numbers and symbols and copy/paste is handled easily, then just backspace out or hit "General Discussion" or whatever and the text goes away. I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser and it's simple to save passwords.

Passwords like this;

ksjJW8498$40jdjOW#

Totally random hitting of keys and the shift button.
