A personal note
I was at the grocery store today and when I used my card, the clerk said it was expired. I had paid no attention, but yep, it was expired. When I got home, I looked through my recent unopened mail and it wasn't in the stack. I called my bank, and they told me it had been mailed, and I should have gotten it. I had company over Mother's Day and a pile of mail was 'put away' I found it, and found the card. All is well, but I sure wish I'd have been more attentive.
I made some notes to myself so I don't forget when the time comes to renew.

(10,125 posts)and health issues. It expired, and I didnt get a replacement. I called the bank, and was told I could come in to pick up a new one. Due to health issues at the time, I asked them to mail it. They didnt want to, but ultimately said they would.
Two weeks went by, and no card. I called again, and got a different guy. He said they hadnt sent a new card, and in fact, there was no record of my call. The first guy didnt want to bother, and just blew me off. The second guy said hed send the card, and I got it in two days.
Im still a little pissed about the first guy, though.

(13,848 posts)Plastered with the usual "cry wolf" reminder to get "REAL ID"
Got so many of these that I ignored it. The U.S. keeps pushing the REAL ID requirement further out. It's now May 7, 2025.
Until I needed it to get some decongestant. Oops.
Quickly renewed online.

(12,830 posts)but the habit of just ignoring (and/or pitching junk mail) is ill advised (along with lazy and some degree of self important). You're not that GDed busy - that you can't afford the 5 seconds it takes to tear open a few envelopes. And, if you are - then you're obviously a VIP, in dire need of a personal assistant.

I had company, and had to do some hurry up stashing a couple weeks ago. My bad and I take full blame. I have added some reminders I'll see and I hope this incident imprints in my brain.
