Advisory: American Airlines Flight Attendant Systemwide Picketing Event on Tuesday, April 4th
(Euless, TX) -- On Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, American Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), will hold picketing events at ten Flight Attendant bases across the United States. American Flight Attendants are unified and ready for long-awaited contractual improvements to compensation, scheduling, and overall work and life balance.
Earlier this month, APFA invoked the services of the National Mediation Board (NMB) by filing for federal mediation, the next step to reach an agreement as outlined by Section 6 of the Railway Labor Act. A federal mediator assigned by the NMB will set the timing and location of bargaining meetings between APFA and American Airlines.
Contract negotiations are entering a critical phase, and management must hear loudly and clearly that Flight Attendants are ready for contractual improvements.
Our contract became amendable in 2019. Flight Attendants have not received a raise or cost of living increase in over four years.
Flight Attendants have waited years for improvements in critical areas of our contract, including Reserve Duty and Scheduling.
APFA has passed proposals on every contract section, including compensation, vacation, and sick leave.
Our Flight Attendants are unified and ready for long-awaited contractual improvements.
