How Trump's Appointees Continue to Dismantle the Postal Service
But the Big Postal Unions Wont JoJoinern the Effort to Force DeJoy and Bloom from Their Posts
The men Donald Trump handpicked to run the U.S. Postal Service into the ground continue to do The Dons dirty work, intentionally slowing the mail and outsourcing vital services to private delivery companies. But the heads of the nations four postal service unions are too spellbound to react.
Thats the view of postal workers across the country who are seeing service standards deteriorate and privatization expanded under the watch of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy and Postal Service Board of Governors Chair Ron A. Bloom. And the postal workers want to give both men the boot.
Last month, 77 public interest groups comprising the Save The Post Office Coalition signed a letter urging President Joe Biden not to extend Blooms term after it expires in December.

(13,730 posts)He was appointed by Trump to fill a seat that had one year remaining in a term of someone who left.
At the end of that year/term, he was granted a one year "HOLDOVER" term, which expires Dec. 8.
The law is careful to say that an appointee can only serve two terms.
The law is careful to say that a board member (and ostensibly the postmaster) may be removed for corruption.
How much more corrupt could it be than the fact that Louis DeJoy invested $300,000 in Bloom's financial investment business?
(And how much more corrupt could DeJoy be than the conflicts of interest between his own financial holdings and the monies the USPS spends on various associated contracts and services?)
Bloom has said he is "tickled pink" at DeJoy's "accomplishments" as Postmaster.
Dump him as of December 8. And don't look back. A re-up would be a GRAVE mistake by Biden administration.
