On July 7, 2022, Emily McCormick announced her resignation from Yahoo! Finance.

Thu Jul 7, 2022: Emily McCormick quits Yahoo! Finance; is headed to Columbia for MBA program

It was the references at DU that did the trick.

Some personal news: Yesterday was my last day at
@YahooFinance
! It’s been a wonderful nearly four years in the newsroom, and I’m very excited for what’s next.

It’s been a privilege to have been able to write about and appear on-air to discuss markets and more for YFi’s audience. A huge thank you to my colleagues — too many to list out here — for making all this possible and teaching me so much.

Up next, I’m heading back to school! I’m thrilled to share I’ll be pursuing my MBA at Columbia Business School starting next month. I’m really looking forward to continuing to learn and grow in this next endeavor.

(230,000 or whatever the figure for the week was)

and you'd post those, and get at least 2 DU comments each time, "ANOTHER!" and one called you a "Yahoo hack" and tried to organize a revolt against you?

I remember.

I should have sent Emily McCormick a Christmas card or something, I spent so much time linking to her posts. Eventually Free Republic started linking to her posts so the members wouldn't have to go to DU to link to them from here.

She was replaced by Alexandra Semenova. I think she got married, as there's still someone at Y!F named Alexandra writing financial threads, but her last name is different.
