Quote for the Day:

People like to remember the sixties as a time when the music was always free and still uncorrupted by the soon-to-be pervasive influence of corporate greed. It sounds real good, but it's not true. Remember, even Woodstock started out as a paid concert. The only reason it didn't end up that way was that the promoters, who had no idea what they were biting off, just totally underestimated how many people would show up. When a quarter of a million of them ignored the fence that had been put up around old Max Yashur's farm, Woodstock suddenly became a "free" concert.

Every time we're going down we're going up. Who dares to hold overnight? But there's never capitulation. Some things got really cheap. Intel, Disney, Nike, Abbott Labs. Alibaba too. I'm hearing of inventory buildups. There will be some great bargains end of year. But there's still no capitulation. These cycles can grind for months and years. Capitulation is when everyone wants to throw in the towel because interest rates are 10% and those who need a loan can't get one. When buying dries up because most people are broke. Think August 1982. That's capitulation.

I didn't know there is Google Finance. Thanks for the links. Maybe it will be more useful than my extra-primitive sites.

But the link I use to post the closing data is pretty close to real time. I can watch it update about every 20 seconds, maybe faster. If that helps, go for it!
