the trick to really talking about gender and promoting informative threads as a male is..

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Bonobo (a host of the Men's Group group).

getting blocked/ignored by the 5 or 6 misandrists leaves you totally free to have a real discussion without super valuable interjection.

so, lets start here:

is the type of sexist second wave feminism that exists here in "protected" spaces indicative of behaviors you see IRL? for me its a no, as it seems to be a function of DU demographics and i see women <35 rejecting the politics of rationalizing personal unhappiness wholesale.

thoughts?

This is a hyperpartisan environment with the stops pulled almost all the way out. I expect the only place you will see anything like this is in a university setting, although it's been a while for me.

I am sure there are many haters in the world, however. I suspect most do a better job in real life of hiding it for social reasons. That happens less when posting anonymously online.

many subjects on DU are intensely discussed. not just the gender issue.

In Real Life ... a lot of "people" go along to get along

and don't want to deal with it in their safe haven.

no big deal.
