Imagine if women lived 10 years less than men!

God, can you imagine how much screaming there would be then?

"The Patriarchy unfairly values MEN'S lives!!"

"Women don't get equal medical care either!!"

"How much more proof do you need of a misogynistic society!"

But when men bring it up, suddenly they believe in evolutionary science and we become whiners. Go figure.

a) women live significantly longer
b) significantly more money is spent on women's healthcare
c) society places a higher value on men

A and B are facts.

The disparity between the life expectancies of men and women is a relatively new phenomenon.

If we accept that increased life expectancy is largely because of improved healthcare, it's hard to reject the premise that the gender disparity is because of the gender disparity in healthcare spending.

It could be proportional to total lifespan; which, as one has increased, so has the other.

What's with the dip right before 1920- is that the flu? If so, fuuuuuck.

The author of the chart suggests that since the flu hit infants especially hard, the life expectancy for babies born in 1918 was especially bad.

But yeah, flu pandemic is serious shit.

But it doesn't make my OP any less true.

It would be the outrage that goes on and on and on and on.
