Your self-image. Do you think of yourself as good-looking, attractive, handsome?

Believe it or not, with all of my insecurities and issues, I think I'm a pretty good looking guy, especially now that I've gotten back into shape, working out, grew a beard for the first time, which I keep very short, just longer than stubble really. Confession, yes, vanity does make me use hair color on my hair, which is still very full, and on my beard. Especially love the beard, and I've gotten a lot of complements on it.

Ok, super vain, but I've been catching my reflection in windows or mirrors, and I think I look good in workout clothes, hoodies, and so forth. And, I clean up well, have to wear suit and tie to work, I look good in some if the new suits I bought to accommodate my weight loss.

So, is your appearance important to you? Do you have a good self-image, body image? Or, am i just being too vain?

There's no way to answer that question without coming off badly, IMHO. Warren DeMontague Feb 2013 #3

I have an active sex life. I am 34 and still look several years younger.

Which is what a lot of people associate with attractiveness. I stay healthy because it allows me to do more of the things I enjoy doing and not really because I want to look more attractive to anyone else. I got over worrying about what other people thought about me a long time ago. I've never worried much about looking younger. With age comes experience and I consider this attractive in both women and men. I want to look my age. It's what defines me.

I mean, hey, I started it - none of you could possibly sound as vain and conceited as I do.

I wouldn't have felt this way 6 months ago, I was completely down in myself. Time heals, and hard work helps.

Let me put it this way; once I got back in shape, and women started flirting with me again, believe me, I noticed the difference.

But yeah, appearance is important. I have a pretty good self/body image that I'm not ashamed of. I think appearing confident is probably more important (just my not so humble opinion). Problem is, I only get hit on by women

But I've noticed people are much more likely to call me handsome if I'm well-dressed and well-groomed.
