James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore reveals he was victim of domestic abuse

SIR Roger Moore has revealed he was the victim of domestic abuse by two of his former wives.
The James Bond actor has been married four times but says Doorn van Steyn and Dorothy Squires both attacked him physically during his unions to them.

"Doorn would scratch me," he said on Piers Morgan’s ITV show Life Stories.

"She threw a pot of tea at me. I’d been sunbathing in the garden, I came up and I’d taken off my pants and I gave her some smart Alec answer and this teapot came hurtling at me. I said, ‘Right, that’s it, I’m leaving’.

Although he never uses the phrase "domestic abuse" I think articles like this are a good thing. Men need to come out and acknowledge if they are victims instead of being shamed in to silence that benefits no one. There are many studies showing that men are victims of this far more often than previously believed but are extremely reluctant to report it.

And the fact that it's a Bond who is willing to state so publicly doesn't hurt.

/granted not the best Bond, but still.

Moore was *clearly* the best Bond, ever.

No, seriously... nobody should be tossing household objects at anybody, and good for him for speaking up about it. Men shouldn't have to suffer in silence for fear of what people might think.

He's got a bit of Jason Bourne about him.

But setting aside the justice of the thing, it is in no one's interest for men to remain silent about DV because it often escalates into serious injury, usually for the woman.

Except maybe Lazenby. I just didn't like OHMSS. I think they were all correct fits for their era.

His "sometimes they need to get hit" or whatever bullshit was a low point.

He was not a great guy.
He remarried after divorcing my mom to a woman about 30 years younger than him.

When he was about 72, he was pretty weak and suffered from emotional and, it turns out, physical abuse. Call it senior abuse, but it was still woman on man abuse.

She knocked him down. He broke his shoulder and she left him sitting in his own urine for a day before calling anyone.

He never really recovered. He died 6 months later. Yes, she killed him basically.
