We have a variety of things to take pictures of here in OK, but not woodchucks...to my knowledge. You want ugly? Ever seen a nutria?! Saw them all the time when we lived in New Orleans. Hideous!

Last year we got 57 of them. This year they are more manageable and we have only bagged 5. Though they now have been repalced by rabbits ga2d knows what it will be next year giant spiders or something.

Thought about it, but I let him alone. He rarely makes an appearance. Smart enough to stay on the other side of the fence and just mess with the dogs now and then. My only hunting is shooing him away, well beyond smashing a spider here and there or swatting a fly. I mass murder ants too.

I don't know man..sounds to me like you're getting just a little too much enjoyment out of killing wildlife. Unless, of course, the animals your taking are all being eaten or are considered invasive species in your part of the country, then I understand..

I guess we're all different. The only animals I trap on my property are feral cats..

"Certainly there is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter."

Commentary on the Hemingway quote by the late Carlos N. Hathcock, GySgt USMC, retired (Sniper): "He got that right, It was the hunt, not the killing."

But really, my crieteria for what makes a sport "manly" is probably the degree-to-which it can be engaged in by men, and only men, which would probably put competetive beard-growing and Puppetry of the Penis-style genitalia contortions near the top of the list.

I don't, but there are many DU'ers who do.

If discussion is limited to only topics that interest ALL of us and about which no difference of opinion exists, it might get kind of boring.

But yeah, I don't think Rabbis are ever in season.

To seek it with thimbles, to seek it with care;
 To pursue it with forks and hope;
To threaten its life with a railway-share;
 To charm it with smiles and soap!
“For the Snark’s a peculiar creature, that won’t
 Be caught in a commonplace way.
Do all that you know, and try all that you don’t:
 Not a chance must be wasted to-day!

In spite of their general foulness. It's better to keep them than kill them. Mind Flayers are big game hunting indeed. Best to have psionic protection if you're going that route. You no more need to hunt rothe than you would a surface cow. Unworthy of accepting any accolades for them.
