Anyone here have a scent they prefer over others?
I'm not a cologne guy myself, but someone bought me some Dolce and Gabanna "The One for Men", and I love it.

(31 posts)the sandalwood aftershave, not the cologne. Reminds me of the smell at the barbershop my mom used to send to me to with a buck or whatever it cost for a haircut when I was a kid.

(21,883 posts)that was my favorite. I tried "Realm" to see if the pheromones would really work.
My ex-wife bought me curve when we were dating. I liked that OK. I had some Grey Flannel for a while and didn't care for it.

I used to wear Aramis exclusively until my brother in law left some Drakkar at my house about 10 years ago and my wife thought it smelled nice on me. I think it's time for a change though. I really wish I could wear Polo. An old boss of mine wore it all the time and I really liked it but, when I bought some for myself, it was pretty foul. I guess my body chemistry isn't compatable.

(59,305 posts)Drakkar Noir for at least 12yrs now...before that, some cheapo old spice. I usually base my decisions on cologne on what women prefer, an old girlfriend of mine liked Drakkar, so I started using it and continue to use it because no one says its smells bad(at least openly to me), and my wife likes the scent as well.

(20,924 posts)... but I can't stand any cologne. I smell like whatever pit juice I happened to pick up at the store - old spice, axe, speed stick - whichever was closest when the shopping cart passed by that section that day.

(80,708 posts)My wife likes the way it smells, and it's good on the skin after a shave. That's about it, and, yeah, deodorant.. not anti-persperant, though, and damn it's gotten hard to find deodorant that is only, and just, deodorant anymore.
Funny so many people in the thread are talking about Drakkar. One whiff of that stuff and I'm back High School, and Reagan is President.
Not that it smells bad, or nothin'. Just a flashback.

(9,709 posts)because I can't stand cologne either. And with deodorant, I have to have a clear stick or a gel, that white crap sticks to the hairs under my arms..

(48,181 posts)So it's Toms for me, the only widely available deodorant that doesn't give me a rash.

(33,224 posts)Or rather, the pit stick d'jour is what I smell like after I shower at night.
The rest of the day it's a variety of contact fragrances most prominent of which are grease, diesel, pitch and two stroke oil in varying proportions.

(54,852 posts)There are others I try from time to time, but I don't like anything that is too sweet. I am already a mosquito magnet and cologne that is sweet doesn't help!
