Men's Group
Related: About this forumWould any of you feel threatened by a woman's libido drug?
I personally wouldn't don't be and think men would welcome it.
Do you agree with the post below that men's fragile egos just can't handle it?

I have never felt anything but overjoyed with horny women...

(80,708 posts)It was unusual, to say the least, but I'd be like "can't we watch a movie or something?" after time 7 or 8.
The relationship didn't work out, but that wasn't why.
It certainly wasn't what I considered a problem, much less threatening to my ego or whatever.

Yes... by a wide margin. Natch.
"I have never felt anything but overjoyed with horny women..."
No doubt, one and only one emotion is the best many people are capable of. Bless their little hearts.

(43,049 posts)this isn't about creating hyper-sexual women, this is about treating women with little or no sex drive who might like some.
It's medicine, not a soapbox.
Allow me to add on edit...
I want the woman I love to enjoy sex at least as much as I do. It's only fair.

In any event, I believe in men and women alike most issues of diminished sex drive in otherwise healthy relationships or circumstances are probably caused by pure accumulated exhaustion. People are too exhausted to do a long of things, why not sex as well?

(29,257 posts)I mean, if "man-hating" exists, I dunno what ELSE it would look like than basically saying men suck every chance you get.

(16,399 posts)Then again, you're dealing with people who believe Viagra is "men's privilege" because of course no woman would have reason to care if her partner can get or maintain an erection.

(29,257 posts)Can you imagine a men's movement that objected to ED drugs because they were sensitive to being reduced to their boners?

(50,130 posts)Meta call outs of other posters is uncivil and makes DU suck. he's not even trying to couch it in terms of discussion of an issue. It's a direct call out of another poster complete with a link.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Fri May 29, 2015, 12:42 AM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Seems like a legit point of (awkward) discussion. When you post something it is fair game to use as a discussion point as long as it isn't hostile or threatening and I don't see that here.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: I don't think the alerter knows what a "call out" is. I think we are getting a little alert crazy here.
Juror #4 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Just too crass.
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: We are all adults on here. Leave the post alone!
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Silliest post I have seen in quite a while. Even from Bonobo.

Why do I get the feeling if I went into the "other side" I might not feel welcome.

(5,909 posts)Just like I predicted.
We have talked about Viagra in the past as a friend told me she and her husband were having some issues in that dept. (he is in his 50's) but didn't want to go to doctor for it.
We both consider sex an important part to a relationship, and I asked my husband if he ever had any issues would he feel comfortable going to the doctor about it, and if that was an option for a solution would he have a problem taking it.
He said not at all. I'm sure there are men that are embarrassed to ask for it as it goes along with several other psychological factors, such as dealing with aging (hell I hate getting older myself) but I'm glad we are so close we can discuss these without any embarrassment.
What disturbed me about the link in the OP is that it was an attack against women and men. I know from talking to other women this affects them as well.
Some women have difficulty achieving orgasm in general and being married to a man that travels internationally we can be on opposite schedules. To his credit he acclimates fast to time zone changes.
I was going through some medical issues years ago (sorry this is TMI and my enemies will hammer me for it but at least I have enough experience to discuss it) and asked my OB about it. Like I said above, I believe sex is an important part to relationships. Finally found a fitting anti-depressant that doesn't give me headaches.
He said there is nothing on the market yet but if there was his wife would be first in line...her choice. Boy, did we laugh! I love my OB dr.
I would think women would be happy to have this drug available if it is safe and effective.
Bonobo, I know you were directing this OP towards men, but in all fairness I did ask my husband and shared his answer.
I apologize mine took up more time than his, which was a simple and honest 'No'.
ETA: Forgot to add this group is being stalked as you can tell by the alerts. Get a fucking life, stalkers. If I'm not interested in say, Permaculture and Transitions Movement, I don't go into that group. Not that difficult. No offense to members of that group, btw. It actually looks a lot more interesting than some others.

(170 posts)We certainly enjoyed our sexlife, but some nights were better than others.
Sometimes libidos just don't sync up despite genuine desire / interest.
And when you're trying to make a kid well... Yes that too can become a chore and a pill (for either one of us) would have helped at times.
Long-short I think this is a great thing if, like viagra, it's only drawbacks are a temporary change in the visual spectrum... and hell my Ex and I are both Sci Fi geeks, having sex with a blue skinned person could be highly interesting... La la, la-la-la-la.....
