This is someone I know through e-mail

I know only his side of the story, admittedly. This seems to be case of a marriage falling apart and the wife using the law to push the husband out of the house and potentially out of the kids' lives. That seems to be quite common.

The default assumption in most parts of the country is that the man is the source of any family problems.
Its also the automatic assumption in the military as well. If you're male, and there's a domestic issue, most commands will keep the service member at a barracks until the issue is resolved.

And I've read similar stories online. That, plus knowing a bit about the unravelling marriage ahead of time, inclines me to take his side of the story as the truth.

where men were involved in relationships where the female was abusive, and the men generally were forced to leave because of claims of violence on the part of the woman. In quite a few cases, I knew both partners, and, except for two instances, the female partner was, without a doubt, the cause of the domestic problems.

Washington may be a liberal leaning state... but sometimes that doesn't mean much.
