(10,362 posts)This is the second or third jury I've been on for you in the last day or so. You're being alert-stalked or something.
They can hide it all they want
http://www.democraticunderground.com/111411126
REASON FOR ALERT:
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS:
Not content with trying to stir up trouble in the LGBT group with a post that attacked another DUer http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1137&pid=32884 they're now spreading it to another group. This is disruptive and clearly intended to stir up trouble.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Nov 7, 2013, 11:41 AM, and the Jury voted 1-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT and said: No explanation given
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: If true, the post should stand. If false, it should be refuted rather than alerted on.
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE and said: The alert is ridiculous. This was in the men's support group. If you don't like it, use the trash the thread function for christsakes.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(36,140 posts)Because that's my alert, and I haven't alerted on anything for a long time...

(36,140 posts)For the record, I've never alerted on anything in the men's group before that post, just in case Pabs or anyone else shifts from the 'alert stalk' theory to the 'hovering over this group alerting on everything that's posted' stream of reasoning

(5,580 posts)Though i get on with some at a more personal level, i figure the two groups should just stay seperate.
Violet_Crumble
(36,140 posts)The hot celebs thread was awesome and I gave some valuable contributions. I'm not in the *OMG! The Men's Group is a boil on the backside of DU!* camp.
I think the only group or forum I deliberately avoid at DU is the gungeon. That place makes my head hurt!

(5,580 posts)Banter is badly missing from du in a big way, its all about i am right and you are wrong, everything is absolutes.
Violet_Crumble
(36,140 posts)The group showing up in my profile as my favourite group would vanish in a nanosecond if absolutism and win at all costs were suddenly removed

(9,612 posts)as soon as "LGBT" was mentioned.
And for those same reasons I'm not surprised you're stalking me in here too.
Violet_Crumble
(36,140 posts)I'm getting the idea that you think anyone who ever alerts on another DUers post is a stalker, but apart from that I'm totally lost.

(36,140 posts)I suspect you might be mistaking me for someone else. The same way as when you did yr 'I should have known!' moment. I don't think I've ever exchanged posts with you before, so it's all just a bit strange to be labelled a stalker and a homophobe all of a sudden...
Pab Sungenis
(9,612 posts)Anything more I say will give you another excuse to alert for a "call-out." Suffice it to say your history is known to me.
Violet_Crumble
(36,140 posts)Maybe you'd like to link to this 'history'? Because I've never had a problem with that group and they've never had a problem with me. Which makes heaps of sense seeing I see eye to eye on LGBT rights. Or are you going to invent a whole new history where I've posted things that are homophobic or something? Feel free to share...

Please jurors, I'm not slamming that person, but saying I don't believe they don't think men can be DV victims.

If so, BB was asking about: "Yet men who are abused by women are pretty much ignored. Or ridiculed." Which was a statement in the OP of that thread.

(80,708 posts)Egregious shit does get said on DU, but actually one of my biggest pet peeves- because it happens to me with disturbing regularity- is having my words twisted or misrepresented, if not having stuff I flat-out never said, put into my mouth deliberately by people who proceed to have an argument with "me" based upon the stuff they just made up.
I don't think you're doing that here, but I do think you're misreading Boston Bean's original post. I do not believe she was saying that men can't be victims of domestic abuse. I think her post was in response to a later line in your post.
Now, all sorts of crap is alleged on DU and never backed up. People on DU are apparently saying all kinds of horrible, afwul, simply nasty egregious *********-ing stuff. Encouraging cannibalism, bathing in goats' blood, listening to Amy Grant albums backwards, and all sorts of nefarious evil hoodoo voodoo, I know because I hear about it all the time, although of course no one ever actually backs up those statements.
Frankly, I'm sick of the shit-flinging on DU. I disagree with Boston Bean all the time, but I'm not going to misrepresent something she said. I think you're reading it wrong.

(36,899 posts)At least two posters claimed statistics on female-male domestic violence was "MRA Group BS" even when they were published by the CDC.
Another claimed, "it is a small percentage of women who are the aggressors, probably a tiny percentage."
