Thanks for any help. I have had my original duets for 20+ years now, but think it might be time to replace them.

(9,709 posts)Got it about 6 months ago. Middle-of-the-line model about $800. The base model did not have the 20-min. quick wash option which I use pretty often.

(71,029 posts)the mold was awful. I swore I would never get a front loader again but we have a washing closet upstairs which is great...no up and down he stairs...so we had to have a stackable. And I have been very please as I noted before.

(6,899 posts)efficient, water-saving, easy to use. Had them 11 years now. Never a problem.

(34,661 posts)Do a google search for best front loaders, tons of info both pro and con. Interesting how Maytag was the Gold Standard until Whillpool/Amana screwed up a great product.
LG has gone from junk to one of the top performers both money wise and lifespan. We had a Bosch, loved it never a problem in twenty years until the computer Board crooked. Replacement board with install labor was more than a new one. Got a top loader with agitator instead. With the Trump Tariffs, and zero availability,we took a rain check.

(4,983 posts)GE and Whirlpool were supposed to be best from what I could see. There seem to be recent negative reviews for every brand out there.

(2,490 posts)My top loader is SO old and so is my dryer. I was thinking about a front loader-have been noticing several ads for stackable washer and dryer too. Ive used a front load washer at a house we rented. It was fine but there was a note about leaving the door open after use and I sopped out water and lint around the rubber ring. I guess they were concerned about mold? Just curious to hear your thoughts!

(12,850 posts)of the washer. Also, I didn't feel like my clothes were clean in the little bit of water it used and with no agitator.
But if you have used one in your rental and liked it, you should be alight. You do have to leave the door open a crack or it will start stinking.

They do make a front loader and I assume the quality would be the same.
I doubt we'd even consider another brand.

(179 posts)They sell discount models branded with major names, but different than 'real' models. Use a trusted appliance store.

(7,609 posts)Love doing the laundry now; first front loaders I've ever had; got the base drawers to stack them on; very easy on back, don't have to stoop or stretch; very energy and water efficient; dryer exceptionally fast; I do leave the washer door open until it dries to deter mold. (I may be wrong, but I don't think Kenmore is made anymore. It has been a long-lasting brand for me over the years.)

Trouble with Samsung. Did not last.

(17,757 posts)It was broken more often than working and after a few months the company quit servicing it. I don't know if Sumsung have gotten their act back together; this happened about 3 years ago.

(17,757 posts)and have been very happy so far. My wife did a lot of research before we got that. That same year, before we retired, we replaced all of our kitchen and laundry appliances. Each piece carefully researched and no two pieces are the same brand except the laundry set.
Our old laundry equipment was OLD. What was funny was when we put the first load of clothes in the wash, when it started to spin, I wanted to run! That thing hauls ass when it spins, it sounds like a jet taking off.
