If a credit card feature says you can "Earn 1% on all purchases" -- what does "all purchases" include: 1) ANYTHING I pay for (like utility bills, mortgage payments, gas, food, gifts, etc.); or 2) only THINGS I pay for and receive (like the gas, food, gifts, etc.)?

(14,653 posts)At 1%, I would need to have my mortgage payment count or else the reward accumulations would be practically invisible.

although I do have the Costco Visa card and got back $356 back last year. I keep track of the purchases and pay them off monthly so I don't incur any interest charges which is annually 16.49 %.
