(15,805 posts)So, here in DU (note the word 'Democrat'?) we should provide a free soapbox to Stein, et al, to openly demonize HRC, the Democratic nominee, and give her an uncritical free pass to trash our candidate -- wait for it -- cuz she's "less threatening than Trump"? Hey, if that's not a tacit endorsement, color me orange.
Listen here, now while I can't speak for anyone else, I suspect that I might not be alone, and I would consider myself an enlightened and civil person, I'm not one to sit passively and let some crackpot kick sand in my face. Yeah, you've got the right idea, a nice long break is just what's needed.

(15,805 posts)Looking at the very oddball pseudoscience stances she has (anti-vax, that's deep in nut-job territory) taken, and like Trump, her general lack of understand of government and US policies, makes her just as unworthy to hold public office. It's not just a matter of treating someone who's apparently unhinged, with any degree of civility, but maybe pity or shock that no one has run an intervention to get her the help she needs, or steer her into other activities more suited to capabilities.

(27,315 posts)There is no run off here, so any vote that could go to Hillary and does not helps Trump (just like any GOP who does not vote or votes Johnson helps Hillary).
In fact, she is a big threat not because she can win, but because she can lead to Trump winning.

(2,992 posts)And I was not bashing Hillary.
I analysed facts.
Really cant understand they took it as attack
Supporting and calling to vite for HRC is essential to block Trump.
There are historical reasons for everyone's paranoia about third party candidates. It was Nader's self-indulgent 3rd party race in 2000 that tipped the balance in several states - most notoriously, Florida- and gave us George Bush as president instead of Al Gore.
And everyone knows what a disaster that was.
Of course, it wasn't just Nader who was the problem. It was the voters who felt that Gore wasn't "perfect" enough and to punish his imperfection, they voted for Nader in protest. Which gave us Bush.
Now we have the most consequential/scary election of my lifetime.
Once again, we have a third-party candidate - Jill Stein - who is going out of her way to recruit voters -especially ex-Bernie voters- to vote for her, instead of Clinton. Once again, the danger isn't just Stein (though I have to say that she IS a problem this time-she's become a little unhinged herself -an M.D. who questions vaccines!); the danger is also those voters who protest that Hillary is not perfect (and, sure, she is indeed not perfect), and, forgetting her good qualities, and, above all, the truly dangerous and horrific alternative of Trump, threaten to choose to exercise their self-indulgence by sending a "message" byvoting for Stein. . which, many of us who endured the 2000 election, would all predict, and I believe correctly, would give us a President Trump.
Which would mean - and I truly do believe this- the end of our democracy, the end of the United States, the end of civilization, and perhaps even the end of the planet.
This is why people have zero tolerance for people who even SAY the word Stein. (and don't get me started on the actress Susan Sarandon, who professes to see no difference between Clinton and Trump, and who seems even to encourage the "cleansing" idea of a Trump to wipe everything out. Well, he'd wipe everything out alright.)
He is really, truly, an insane, unbalanced narcissist who, to UNDERstate the case, is utterly unfit to be president. We cannot let him win.
The future of the world is truly at stake!!
That's why even the most innocent mention of Stein (who, see above, has become crazy in her own way) sets people on edge.
Don't say away too long. We'll miss you!
