It does seem that the Democrats are coming together behind Hagel. If he gets all their votes (and if either it is before the state vote or the interim MA Senator is there) that is 55. It would seem that at least 5 Republicans would not filibuster.

...factor. Saw it with Kerry, Biden and the President. And President Obama seems so much more relaxed than last time around. I think being re-elected was very validating of all his work during the past four years.

No picture of him strangling Bob Woodward. (Not sure what this referred too, but Woodward can be obnoxious).

Kerry to Field Questions From Panel He Chairs
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
Published: January 24, 2013 at 3:37 AM ET

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic Sen. John Kerry, on a smooth path to confirmation as secretary of state, is likely to face friendly questioning when he testifies before the committee that he's served on for 28 years and led for the past four.

...

The five-term Massachusetts senator is widely expected to win overwhelming bipartisan support from his colleagues, and that notion was reinforced by the list of people who will introduce him: Clinton, Massachusetts freshman Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Republican Sen. John McCain.

C-SPAN (main channel) will be covering the hearing.
