Kerry attacks Romney's foreign policy (or lack thereof) and other stuff

Good and long post.

Kerry rebuts Romney, suggests funding cuts may have contributed to killings in Benghazi
By Melinda Henneberger

John Kerry has been trying to think like Mitt Romney as he stands in for the Republican nominee in presidential debate prep with Barack Obama. But in an interview on Tuesday, Kerry said it’s not easy to follow Romney’s train of thought on foreign policy.

“Romney has made clear that not only does he not have the judgment or vision’’ to be commander-in-chief, said the ’04 Democratic nominee, who chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “but he’s really been all over the map” on Afghanistan and more.

“I have trouble trying to figure out what his plan is, when he says things like ‘If I were president, Iran wouldn’t have a nuclear bomb.’ Well, guess what, Mitt Romney? They don’t and won’t.’’

...

He almost seems angrier at Romney’s criticism of the president than he did in response to the “Swiftboating” falsehoods about his Vietnam service during his presidential run.

Or maybe he’s just learned from that experience – at first, his team couldn’t believe anyone would take those charges seriously – that yes, when Romney says that there would be no protests in the Middle East if he were president, some people will nod and wonder why Obama hadn’t thought of that.

should run for PResident would make one angry when they say the htings Romney does.

as for the comparison of his reaction to the swift boat attacks. Kerry has been attacked on his service and his protests for decades. it was nothing new for him. of course he didn't like it , but there was a point when he had to focus on other things and go on with his life.

also it was others like Cleland who took on the role Kerry is now of attacking Romney in ways Obama doesn't and shouldn't.

there is a lot we can say about that but i can understand Kerry's reaction.

Romney comes off as a total idiot to me on foreign policy(plus many other issues). i really think Romney is an idiot. i don't think it's totally about just saying what he thinks would help him politically though i think that is a part of it. but even in that case he wouldn't come off as so ignorant of the issues.

among that amazing and deplorable crop of R candidates (with the exception of Huntsman, who I was really afraid of, in case, by some miracle, he were to win) in the primaries, I ws hoping that Romney would prevail because if, God forbid, Obama were to lose, Romney would be "survivable". How wrong I was! I don't think he is an idiot, but, to repeat a phrase I often here nowadays, he completely "lacks a core", a total lack of inner convictions and beliefs. Quite stunning, actually.

he says things like Iran shouldn't get nukes . but they don't ask him what exactly he would do. and what he wouldn't do that Obama has done and do that Obama hasn't done.

so he just goes around saying things like "when i am president there will be no terrorist attacks" and other crap.
