President Lula (PT) said this Tuesday (11) that he wants to be respected in international discussions and that there's no use in U.S. President Donald Trump shouting.
"There's no point in Trump shouting from over there because I learned not to be afraid of an angry face. Speak softly to me, speak respectfully to me, because I learned to respect and I want to be respected," the president said at an event hosted by automaker Stellantis in Betim (MG).

Since taking office in January of this year, Trump has been announcing the implementation of tariffs on imported goods from other countries, including Brazil.
Brazilian steel was targeted by tariffs imposed by Trump in February.
In a radio interview in February, the Brazilian president had already criticized Trump, saying he was elected to govern the United States, not "to rule the world."
At another event in Minas Gerais last week, during a visit to an MST (Landless Workers’ Movement) camp, Lula criticized businessman Elon Musk, a Trump ally, without mentioning him directly.
