The Clinton campaign is so appreciative of volunteers
This weekend I did my first canvass for the general election. I did a phenomenal amount of phone banking during the primary and even went down to Iowa to get out the caucus, but due to my heavy work schedule the past few months I hadn't managed to do much volunteering for the GE.
On Saturday, they had a big send off with Al Franken and Keith Ellison speaking to encourage us. Our local state senator was also there, and the Clinton campaign works with the state party in coordinating campaign activities, so when you canvass for Hillary you canvass for the entire Democratic ticket.
When I finished, they gave me a handmade thank you card. Apparently a volunteer makes them to give to other volunteers. Then on may way out, multiple staff and other volunteers thanked me for helping out and gave me yet another card. They go out of their way to make volunteers feel good about helping out. I don't know if others have had similar experiences in other states, but here in MN they are really wonderful.
