Second Debate Shows American Democracy Is Failing

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by William769 (a host of the Hillary Clinton group).

Please read and share: http://stupidpartymathvmyth.com/1/post/2016/10/second-debate-shows-american-democracy-failing.html

"The run-up to the the second Trump-Clinton debate, the debate itself, and the debate’s aftermath expose the simple truth that our democracy is failing: the appalling spectacle was anything but a debate, and our society is currently incapable of producing a substantive debate or a substantive election because far too many voters abhor substance and seriousness. Something’s rotten in the state of Denmark, and it’s a large portion of the American electorate, among other things."

Republicans chose a Populist Demagogue candidate that does not debate and has no desire to discuss policy. Trump appeals to the emotions of anger and fear.

Clinton can discuss policy until the cows come home, but That would be a once sided conversation since trump hasn't the grasp of policy or the desire to discuss it.

Also, Presidential debates have not been real debates for decades. The candidates come with preplanned lines and answer only questions they want to answer, even if they are not asked.

They do not foretell the end of Democracy. We will vote in November. If Clinton wins, Democracy will limp along just fine. If Trump wins, then Democracy will be in real danger because an autocratic tyrant will be placed at the helm of state.
