Hillary Clinton
Related: About this forumI really love Hillary.
I am so frustrated with the media meme that nobody likes her. That is a lie. All the people I know who are democrats love Hillary and are excited to vote for her. Sure, there are people out there who are lukewarm about her. But, the truth is that she has been beaten up with crap for 30 years and sadly much of it has stuck. You want to know a fact, her mistakes are small compared to the bullshit a lot of other politicians have gotten away with.
Here is another fact: I can't wait until this election is over. I think that the campaign is going to get vicious now, especially now that this asshole Bannon is on Trump's team, and by the time it's over we will all need therapy.

I hate how gross this election makes me feel because of the kimd of people we are facing. And I agree - it will be getting worse and the media will eat it up.

(8,579 posts)I can relate to her and don't see her as unlikable at all. How can she be unlikable if she's been Most Admired Woman for 20 years?

I admire Hillary as one of the most extraordinary women ever. Every time I hear - or see - the unlikability meme, my own liking and respect for her go up another notch! I thought I had topped out by the Convention. But now I really, really, REALLY love her and there's STILL room to go higher!

Watching the virulence towards Hillary unfold year after year has taught me a lot about what the reality of sexism looks like. It doesn't just demand a specific role that limits her choices, it isn't just an expectation to only be in a supporting role, it isn't just a set of standards that are always far higher and nearly impossible to achieve, it is also that it is normalized that outright smears and lies will be told that disfigure who she really is. She has been the bellweather of where we are a society for the rights of every woman. This election cycle has revealed a lot about people, as did the election of Obama. Many of us are paying attention.
Like Obama, she is phenomenal and truly a role model for how to move forward in the face of opposition: with grace, intelligence and courage.
