He seems overly impressed with Trump's embarrassing machismo act. I think Matthews has a deeply internalized sexist perception of the world.

Also, it's strange that he's still under the impression that Trump is a 'political genius', despite all evidence to the contrary. I could understand this more (maybe) in the first few months of his campaign, but now?

to political received opinion.

He was an early and vocal Trump critic throughout the primaries. Now that some in the media are being more critical of Trump, Matthews is going the other way.

It comes with the beltway pundit need to act like the insider who knows better than everyone else.

occasionally when nothing else is on and I'm desperate for something on TV, but I find myself watching his show and others on MSNBC less often these days as they try to push the "dead heat" narrative with the polling and after the major lineup changes from last year.

The media in general is lowering the bar for The Donald so that the 'horserace' can commence, a race in which Trump and Hillary Clinton are . . . equals. We (the viewing as opposed to thinking public) need to swallow the meme that both candidates are equally disliked, corrupt and congenital truth-killers. Because Matthews and his kin are 'objective, serious journalists" all things must be equal to cover the national campaign. Even though Trump is an unqualified, know-nothing narcissist, at least he's a man willing to do battle with the unscrupulous Hillary Clinton, a woman who has been under a journalistic and political microscope for 25 years, yet has the audacity to survive, thrive and make the Donald Trumps of the world look like the small, petty men they truly are.

As I recall, Chris Matthews swooned over GW's performance art on the aircraft carrier, the one displaying the Mission Accomplished banner.

Several months ago, Matthews lashed out at Katy Tur for not doing her job properly (she didn't have the answer to one of the man's questions). Ten days ago Matthews was gushing over Tur's remarkable luck of being able to cover The Donald 24/7, said she was doing a fine, fine job reporting Trumpster News.

Man-crush much?? Yeah, just a tad obvious.
