Attorney General Lynch is not pulling a Comey!

Her answer over and over:

"Director Comey has chosen to provide great detail into the basis for his recommendations that were ultimately provided to me. He's chosen to provide detailed statements and I would refer you to those statements. I AS ATTORNEY GENERAL AM NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER COMMENT ON THE FACTS OR THE SUBSTANCE OF THE INVESTIGATION."

Republicans are apoplectic!

1. "Republicans are apoplectic!" and Andrew Mitchell along with Kristen whats-her-face try to spin it

as if they actually have a legit reason to be. They don't. It's all about POLITICS and it's their way to campaign for re-election on taxpayers' dime, trying to gin up yet another faux-scandal to cover for the fact that they haven't done diddly for the American people and therefore NO REPUBLICAN deserves re-election!

2. It started up again.

Democrats are asking pertinent questions regarding DOJ commentary.

Republicans alternate with the Democrats relentlessly regurgitating same old pointless email crap.

3. 1:26 ET break for floor vote before continuing hearing.

These are protest votes regarding failure of Republicans to put forward gun safety legislation as they are trying to slip out of town again!

Democrats asking AG Lynch about a variety of DOJ issues relevant to today and now!

Republicans stuck on email. Getting nowhere!!!

5. It's over, 4 1/2 hours!

AG Lynch responded to their questions as FBI Director Comey should have all along - "inappropriate to comment"!

Some Republicans got vicious - Ratcliffe - but impugning character is par for the course in DC.

Her final comment:

We have provided access into the thinking of the investigative team in this case.

We have also -- I have provided access into the process by which the department was resolving this matter, things that we rarely do but I felt was important to do in order to make it clear to the American people that my role in this matter had been decided before I had a conversation with former president.

That conversation did not have impact on it and that, in fact, as with every case the team of experienced career prosecutors and agents who reviewed this diligently, thoroughly and at great length had came up with a thorough, concise and exhaustive review and recommendation which I then accepted.

And while I understand the frustration by people who disagree with that decision, as I have indicated before it is similar to the frustration of people who may have a situation where they are the victim of a crime and were not able to bring a case. We have had similar discussions with individuals in that category, as well. I understand that frustration and the desire to see action in a certain matter where feelings are strong and emotions run high.

But in this case, as with every other case that the department handles we looked at the law and facts and were applied and conclusion was come to that was consistent with the law and those facts.

I accepted that recommendation.

6. If Compey wanted to say something, it should have been in the form

of Recommendations to State Dept-not his personal character assassination.
